Immigrant ServicesThe International Institute’s immigration programs aim to resolve barriers to family reunification and enable full participation of immigrants in our diverse communities. Established in 1918, the Institute is the only statewide nonprofit agency recognized by the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) to provide immigration services to low income individuals.
We provide a variety of immigration services through our offices in Stamford, Bridgeport, and Hartford. Services include preparation for naturalization, adjustment of status, visa processing, political asylum, assistance for violence against women, and family reunification assistance. Our staff is comprised of immigration lawyers, BIA accredited representative, and trained immigration counselors. Low cost legal assistance and court representation may also be available for asylum cases, cancellation of removal cases, adjustment of status, change of venues and voluntary departures, and other immigration legal issues.
American citizenship classes are provided on certain Saturdays.
